San Carlos' no-kill sanctuary for protecting animals in crisis

All adoptable dogs have been spayed or neutered and all dogs and puppies have received their vaccinations.

Each animal comes with a health certificate for crossing the border.

If you have room in your house and your heart for the affection and fun a pet can bring, choose one of the ones listed below, by name or by description, then email Santuario, or call Gwen in San Carlos at 226-1460 or (Vonage - US#) 520-225-0212

Dineh, Now Available for Adoption

August 16, 2008
Dineh

Dineh, the mascot of the Santuario, is now up for adoption. She was found abandoned in San Carlos over the Easter Weekend in 2007, one of six rescued pups, all adopted out to the Tucson area, except her.

Because of the situation at the sanctuary, the dog population must be downsized and Dineh can no longer stay here as our mascot.

Moonshadow

October, 2007
Moonshadow

Moonshadow has been adopted from Santuario. She now resides in Pomerene, Arizona with Mandy and Larry Moore, long-time supporters of Santuario. Moonshadow has her own horse, dog and cat friends to share her new life - plus lots of room to romp and countryside to explore. She's one of the lucky ones!

Moonshadow was rescued in San Carlos when she was only five months old. She's been spayed, received her shots and has a health certificate for crossing the border.

Moonshadow is full of personality, she can howl like a hound and sometimes attempts to "talk" like a human. She has a gentle disposition and soulful eyes.

The following canines are NOT available for adoption, they are permanent Santuario residents:

Malcolm ... Not Available for Adoption

Malcolm

Malcolm was rescued from the desert near La Manga. He's a distemper survivor, but the disease left its mark. Malcolm has nerve damage and a constant twitch, which he may, or may not outgrow. He's otherwise a very healthy dog, has tripled in size since his first picture, and is very sweet and lovable.

Maggie ... Not Available for Adoption

Maggie

Maggie also lives in the canine yard at the Santuario. She belonged to a man who passed away. Santuario inherited Maggie plus six other dogs and twenty-four cats. Maggie is very timid, a large, blond dog who's not a good candidate for adoption, so she lives with Chocolate and Malcolm in the luxury of the terraces that they share.
